Nightclubs don’t spend money on posters; draw fast.
Most of these posters have only a few hours allowed from initial concept to client, revision, and final production. Typically less than 4 hours.
Some of the solutions are in the nature of the problem itself (like the infamous Perna Quesada Solution), wherein the challenge becomes the poster. Others are literal to the DJ’s request or homage to a give movement or artist (like the pumpkin carving posters).
We’ve treated these as exercises in quick thinking or fast illustration; they’re sketches. We rely on grid structures, hierarchy and clear thinking to produce effective event marketing that appears to have a greater budget.
