Since 2002

Founder Jett Butler began freelance work in the fall of 2002, after having spent six years as an architectural and graphic designer for Dallas-Fort Worth design firms. On assignment in Upsalla, Sweden, he found the inspiration to give his fledgling freelance operation a name: föda.  The Swedish word föda means to give birth or to give rise to.

“föda: a multimedia collaborative” became FÖDA Group, which incorporated to become FÖDA Studio in 2006. Today, the core studio is Jett, designer Melissa Martin and interns Sarah Emmons and Caspar Lam.

The studio has stayed small by intent, choosing to focus on quality of work over quantity of production.
