You & The Evening Sky

This is our 5th package for Alli: Always Eden, the One Limited Edition EP, The Day of Small Things, At Sea Limited Edition Live EP, and now You And The Evening Sky. Getting to work with the same recording artist over and over is a great honor for us. It also allows Alli to develop a consistent image over time, essentially creating a brand identity by default. Musicians don’t like to think of their art as “product” but the fact remains that audiences often identify with the art, endorse it, often as much as they do the music.

For You And The Evening Sky, our take is a simple narrative on the album title. Digging back into the history of stargazing led us to the odd armillary sphere, which we loosely interpreted on the interior. The beaded curtain that frames Alli on the cover forms a ring on the metallic ink of the disc and becomes an extension of the bar code (a specialty of ours). Each beaded strand is made up of a different phase of the moon. A star chart opposes the armillary sphere in the adjacent interior panel.
