FÖDA Loves Truffles

Or: ‘How to connect an existing brand with new architecture.’ Either way you phrase it, chocolate was involved.

Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland, with locations around the world, has been making renowned truffles since 1947. Many gourmets considered Teuscher truffles the best in the world, and though the brand is well known, their is great variation in how each store presents the identity. So, how to place the venerated 70 year old international Teuscher brand within the context of Austin?

Interject owner and chocolatier Angus Black of the new Austin store. He hired architect David Webber, whose ‘gift box’ concept of the shop included a significant graphic gesture, that of a large pink dot removed from the façade.

Our assignment was an identity and retail system that connected Mr. Webber’s gesture to Mr. Black’s vision and Mr. Teuscher’s noted brand. What followed was a simple and clean execution of a graphic system that is intended to compliment the architecture, feature the brand, and not compete with the color and textural odyssey of the store or product itself.

The expansive system includes menu boards, business cards, product cards, thank you notes, product stickers, ADA sign, window copy, shipping stickers, coffee sleeves, and the forthcoming exterior signage.

Ruin your dinner, have desert first. Slip over to the newly opened 2nd street location, and enjoy some clover brewed coffee or a champagne truffle. Or both.
*Afterwards, consider barbecue, tacos, or cocktails. We happen to know a few great places for those nearby.
